  • Mobile Food Pantry coming

    The Feeding South Dakota Mobile Food Pantry will return to Edmunds County on two days. The Food Pantry will be in Ipswich on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Edmunds County 4-H Building. The Food Pantry will return on Friday, Jan. 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bowdle. Do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.     The Edmunds County Conservation District Annual Soil Health Clinic will be held on Jan. 11, 2022 in the Ipswich School Theatre from 5 to 9 p.m. Guest speakers are Anthony Bly and Ken Vlieger. Bly is a SDSU Extension Soil Field Specialist. He has 25 years of agronomy experience, with soil fertility, soil testing, soil health and crop research.     Frances Helen Geier, daughter of William and Katherine (Wentz) Mastel was born on October 31st, 1932 in Ipswich and died at age 89 of natural causes on December 22, 2021 at her home in Longview, Wash. surrounded by family. Frances was the 11th of 12 children. She married Pius A. Geier (deceased) on Oct. 20, 1951. They farmed in Roscoe, then moved to Casper, Wyo.
