    For the second year in a row, Miss Ipswich was crowned the Princess of Summer at the South Dakota Snow Queen Festival. Lindsey Grabowska, 2021 Miss Ipswich, was crowned the Princess of Summer on Saturday, Jan. 9 in the Aberdeen Civic Arena. 2020 Miss Ipswich Avery Sylte had the same honor.   • Blood donors needed locally during pandemic

    Living through a pandemic can lead to many uncertainties, although one thing we are sure of, is that the need for blood never ceases. Ipswich residents are gearing up for community blood drives to help prevent possible blood shortages in the coming weeks. The Ipswich community blood drive is planned on Thursday, Jan. 21 from 1:45 to 6 p.m. in Father Bormann Hall. Appointments are encouraged to keep donors socially distanced.   • Ipswich KC Free Throw Contest

    The Ipswich Knights of Columbus will have their annual Free Throw Contest on Sunday, Jan. 17 in the Holy Cross gym starting at 1 p.m. All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are eligible to participate in their respective age divisions.     The Ipswich UCC Church has started a stained glass window restoration fund-raiser. The stained glass windows in the church were installed during the ministry of the Reverend Godfrey Matthews in 1917. The following year Rev. Matthews was called as a Y.M.C.A. Secretary to Fort Sill in Oklahoma. In 1950 it was discovered that the windows needed re-leading and Merrill and Edna Bebermeyer went to Minneapolis and located the firm from which the windows were ordered and they sent two men out to do the work.     Ipswich-Bowdle hosted a varstiy wrestling invitational that consisted of nine teams last Saturday. The host boys placed third with 59 points. The invite was won by Linton, N.D. with 111 and then Aberdeen Central JV with 97.5. Having three individual champions did not hurt at all.
