There is really no such thing as a January thaw anymore due to climate change or whatever. At least not in the traditional sense of a very long cold spell with finally a much welcomed late January thaw. If you were even lucky to experience that! But our weather temperatures have been more like a roller coast ride with frequent ups and downs. And that we haven't had a whole lot of precip. so far this winter in our immediate neck of the woods. We just get enough of the white stuff to be a nuisance, at least for now anyway. Be it in whatever...

The Ipswich Tiger boys' basketball team dropped a close verdict to Sully Buttes on January 11 in Onida. The Tigers indeed experienced a 35-33 shortfall at the final buzzer of a back and forth game to say the least. For instance the score was tied six times and there were four lead changes as well. Another somewhat unusual aspect of the game was that there were very few free thows. Ipswich didn't even go to the line once all night and the hosts made two of their four free throw opportunities. So those two free throws would prove to make a huge...
