    The South Dakota Department of Health announced that on Monday, January 18, 2021, the Department of Health and its health partners across the state will start vaccinating a prioritized population group, within Group 1D, of the state’s vaccination plan.     The Ipswich Knights of Columbus had their annual free throw competition on Jan. 17 in the Holy Cross gym. Participants ages nine to 14 were welcome to compete in the event that has been held annually by the Knights of Columbus since 1972. Kids compete within their own gender and age divisons and progress from local level to regional and state/provincial contests.     Verna Ochsner, 95, of Ipswich peacefully passed to the Lord at Avantara Ipswich on December 20, 2020. Pastor Timothy Daub officiated the funeral at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will be at the Ipswich City Cemetery.     The Ipswich Area Wrestlers competed in Faulkton on Thursday Jan. 14 in a quadrangular dual competition winning two of the three duals. In the first dual the Tigers lost to Miller/Highmore-Harrold 36 to 28. The Tigers defeated Faulkton 42 to 30 and Mobridge-Pollock 36 to 29.     The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed in the Battler Invitational in Gettysburg on Saturday Jan. 16. As a team they tied for sixth out of 12 teams placing all seven wrestlers. The team was led by Lucas Rowland with a second place finish for 12 team points. Brady Unser and Kadyn Weisser placed third.
