    Mobile Food Pantries travel across South Dakota distributing free food to individuals and families in need. The Feeding South Dakota Mobile Food Pantry will return to Edmunds County in early February. The Food Pantry will be in Ipswich on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food will be distributed by the 4H building. The Food Pantry will be in Bowdle on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at St. Paul Lutheran from 1 to 2 p.m. The Food Pantry distributes free food to individuals and families in need.     The Ipswich Lions Club recently provided popcorn for Activity Day at the Ipswich Public School. Elementary through Middle School students stopped by the Lions Concession stand to enjoy a bag of popcorn donated by the Ipswich Lions Club. Since Mother Nature cancelled the holiday movie before Christmas break, the Lions served popcorn on Activity Day.     South Dakotans’ apprehension of an impending drought has been growing, and rightfully so, says Laura Edwards, SDSU Extension State Climatologist. According to the latest National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration climate outlook, there will be minimal moisture reprieve in the months to come. The U.S. Drought Monitor map released January 21 shows over 60 percent of the state in Moderate (D1) to Extreme (D3) drought categories. Interment with military honors followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Joe was born December 31, 1929 to Leonard and Theresa (Reinbold) Scherr at Strasburg, N.D.     The Tigers split hoops trip to James Valley Christian in Huron. Ipswich went 1-1 in a girls/boys basketball doubleheader versus JVC last Saturday. Boys first in this case because the Tigers boys indeed come away with a 48-34 win! But the Lady Tigers were edged by a single point, 43-42.     The Ipswich girls utilized outstanding final-quarter performances to capture two high school basketball girls/boys twin-bills during the school week last week, one at home in Ipswich and the other on the road to Faulkton.     The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed in the Kingsbury County Invitational on Jan. 23 in Arlington. Redfield Area won the tourney with 248.5 points, followed by the hosts with 127.5 points.
