    Marvin Seyer of Ipswich recently completed and published a book called "50 Golden Years of the Yellowstone Trail Conference Boys Basketball Tournament." The book chronicles the YTC boys tournament from 1950-2000. It is a rich and one-of-a-kind collection of pictures, box scores, tournament programs and stories about outstanding athletes and healthy rivalries between area teams.     Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, Feb. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no school on Friday or Monday, Feb. 18 - Presidents’ Day.     Yes, it's that time of the year, nearly time for high school girls' basketball regionals to get underway across South Dakota including Region 2B. As in volleyball, two winners will advance from each 10-team region, each winning a 2B bracket championship. Those lucky 16 survivors, the SoDak 16 will then be seeded statewide into eight games on February 28 and those winners will advance to the State B tourney set for Huron on March 7,8 and 9.     Two former Ipswich girls' track and field stars represented their respective university teams at an indoor invite at SDSU last weekend in Brookings. Macy Heinz runs for the University of South Dakota as a sophomore and Tori Moore is a Black Hills State University senior.     Ipswich won three recent girls' high school basketball outings last week, capped by a 58-52 overtime victory over Waverly-South Shore during the Warner Classic last Saturday in Warner. The Lady Tigers had topped Sully Buttes in Onida by a 46-29 verdict a night earlier and had outlasted Waubay/Summit 49-41 in Ipswich last Tuesday. Now back to that stunning OT victory on Saturday!     Ipswich was able to play one of its scheduled boys' basketball games last week, a road trip to Sully Buttes on Friday, won by the host team 55-30. They won each of the individual quarters, 9-6, 15-6 and 17-5, respectively to gradually outdistance themselves from the Tigers. Three reasons were Grant Johnson, Nick Wittler and Cameron Ogle.     Ipswich/Leola/Bowdle, I-L-B, is scheduled to attend the Region 1B high school wrestling tourney on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Redfield, beginning at 9 a.m. The top four winners in each weight class will advance to the State B meet, scheduled on February 22-23 in Rapid City.
