    Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed in the Region 1B Tournament in Gettysburg on Feb. 17. IHS Senior Kadyn Weisser placed fourth in the Region and will compete in the 215 division at the State B Meet Feb. 22-24 in the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Kadyn will wrestle Levi Wieman of Parker in the first round on Feb. 22. IHS Seventh grader Sophia Knittel will also compete at the State B. She will compete in the girls 126 division.     The Ipswich Wrestling Booster Club AAU youth tournament was held in Ipswich on Sunday, Feb. 18. There were 41 Ipswich Area young wrestlers competing in the busy event.     The Edmunds County Shooting Sports held their first postal. Shooting a qualifying score enables the shooter to participate in the State Shoot in Ft. Pierre on April 26-28. Sixteen BB Gun shooters showed their skills in standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone positions. There were also five air pistol shooters and 10 archers that shot the postal. BB Gun members are coached by Joe Galbraith, air pistol by Doug Wittmeier, and archery is coached by Jim Kanable.     A new Jail is a WIN for everyone in Edmund’s County After the closing of the Jail in Ipswich at the County building it has come to my attention that anyone that is detained by the Edmund’s County Sheriff has to be transported to the nearest jail that has room. This causes an issue for the safety of the residents of Edmund’s County. We currently have five law enforcement officers - a Sheriff and four deputies.
