The Stephanie Miller-Davis Library Summer Reading Grant Program is now in its fifth year of supporting summer reading programs in small rural communities in partnership with the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) and the South Dakota State Library (SDSL). April 15 has been designated “Purple Up Day for Military Kids.” To promote the new project, the Roscoe Legion Auxiliary will celebrate on April 14 at the Puzzle Contest/Pie and Ice Cream Social between 2 and 4 p.m. at the Legion Post in Roscoe. Everyone is asked to bring new school supplies to be distributed to military connected children with at least one parent or guardian serving in the military on active, reserve, or National Guard duty. Spring F.O.C.U.S. Showcase and FFA Baked Potato Supper was postponed to Monday, April 15 in the EC Commons from 5 to 7 p.m. The students’ F.O.C.U.S. class projects will be on display. EDMUNDS CENTRAL The Edmunds Central high school golf team kicked off the season at the Class B Classic in Mitchell on April 5. There were 144 boys and girls golfers participating from across the state. Harrison Beyers led the Edmunds Central golfers with 84 for 22nd place. Seth Hettick scored 87.
