    The Ipswich 2025 Snow Queen Festival was Saturday, Nov. 9 in the School Theatre. Kathryn Kilber was crowned 2025 Miss Ipswich Snow Queen and Isabella Henderson was crowned 2025 Miss Ipswich Junior Snow Queen. The Junior first runner-up was Elaina Morales.     South Dakota’s General Election was held Tuesday, November 5, 2024. According to the unofficial results, statewide voter turnout was over 69%, with 436,418 ballots cast. Edmunds County had an even better turnout on Nov. 5. The county turnout was 76.15% (2078 votes cast - 2729 registered voters).     From the Ipswich Tribune October 16, 1930 edition Marriages in S.D. Decrease Divorces Show 3.7 Percent Increases in the State Over 1928 and also in the United States. According to figures from the United States department of commerce, marriages in South Dakota decreased .5 percent last year in comparison with 1928, while divorces increased 3.7 percent for the same period.     November Library Happenings This month the library is open on Saturday, November 16. The activity scheduled is Rock Painting. The Library Board had its monthly meeting on Tuesday November 10 at 5 pm. The library will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. We have a new puzzle on the puzzle board and the Coffee Klatch continues to meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. until noon. I hope I see you at the Marcus P. Beebe Memorial Library very soon....

    On Sunday, November 10, senior Gabe Johnson ran in the Nike Heartland Regional Championship Cross Country Meet at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls. Johnson placed 47th in his heat of 340 runners, running 16:58 for the 5K distance. Thousands of runners from seven states competed in Sunday's race.     Ipswich played Sully Buttes in the quarterfinals of the Region 6B volleyball tournament on Nov. 5 in Ipswich. The Tigers won 3-1 25-12. 21-25, 25-18, 25-12. IHS had 39 kills. led by Marley Guthmiller with 18, Kaylin Onken six and Josie Knutson five. The Tigers had 10 aces and 27 assists. IHS had 58 digs led by Brianna Geditz 26 and Guthmiller 25.     North Central faced Faulkton Area in the quarterfinals of the Region 6B volleyball tournament on Nov. 5 in Faulkton. Faulkton won the match 3-1 25-23, 25-17, 22-25, 25-14. Amree Vander Vorst led the Thunder with four aces, 14 kills, 28 digs and two blocks. The Thunder had 27 kills. Lindsey Geier had eight.
