    Edmunds County has received a grant from FEMA to conduct an update of the existing Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. Federal Law requires that each state have a Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan and the State of South Dakota requires local jurisdictions to have individual plans in order to be eligible for Federal grant dollars in the event that a natural disaster occurs in our area.     The Ipswich Elementary Concert will be held on April 29. There will be a 2:15 p.m. matinee and a 7 p.m. performance. The concert will begin with a performance by the fourth and fifth grade band doing their contest music. Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten will perform a couple musical selections before the Kindergarten-fifth grade students perform the musical “Pirates!”, written by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson.     Tate Christian Kaiser, 8, Tolstoy, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Bowdle Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Bowdle, with Father Darin Schmidt, Celebrant. Interment follows at the Church Cemetery. Tate Christian, son of Barbera (Thomas) and Lance Kaiser, was born at Aberdeen on December 26, 2012.     Ipswich hosted an high school golf tourney here Saturday at Split Rock. The Tiger boys won their team division, topping second-place Faulkton 256 to 269. There were six scoring teams on the boys' side. Luke Peterson keyed the victory with his 72, toppping Bennett Cassens of Faulkton, the runner-up with an 81.     It was another remarkable day for the 2021 Tiger thinclads, even without Mobridge-Pollock in the mix. Ipswich indeed proved that to be true here last Saturday at the Ipswich Tiger Relays. The IHS Tigers swept the meet, topping runner-up Roncalli 109 to 97 in the girls' outcome and the Tiger boys followed suite by overwhelming Stanley County 152 to 85.
