    The Feeding South Dakota Mobile Food Pantry will return to Edmunds County on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Edmunds County 4-H Building in Ipswich. They will continue to implement an electronic check-in process for all guests served at the food distributions across the state. Proxy pick-ups are not allowed at the mobile distributions.     The Edmunds County Commission appointed a new commissioner during their meeting on April 27, 2021. Commissioner Robert Olson passed away on April 8. He was the chairman of the Commission. The newly-appointed Commissioner for District 1 is Dean F. Mehlhaff. The appoinment was effective April 27 through November 10, 2022.     Ipswich High School art students participated in the All Dakota High School Art Exhibition. Schools from North and South Dakota submitted artwork for exhibit. There were more than 70 pieces. The show could be viewed in the Dacotah Prairie Museum in Aberdeen through April 24. IHS artists Paige Maher won for best sculpture and Quincy Olivier won for best painting.     Once again there was a high school track and field attended by more than one Tiger team. It was indeed the Groton Invitational hosted by the Groton Tigers last Tuesday in Groton. And again the IHS Tigers made an impression both in the field and on the track. For instance? Katelyn Geditz swept the girls' throwing competition with a 31-10 shot put toss and 102-3 discus spin.     Ipswich competed at a high school golf event hosted by Faulkton last Thursday. The Tiger boys were led by Luke Peterson in third with his 75, only bettered by Wyatt Larson of McIntosh with a 73 and Bennett Cassens of the host school with his 74. Ipswich was second as a team. Ipswich's next scorer just missing the Top 10 was Matthew Jaenisch with a 88 in 11th followed by Jace Konsor 17th with 93 and Chet Peterson 20th at 95 among 41 boys.     Ipswich sent track and field athletes to two separate meets over the past weekend and still managed to do quite well. In fact the Tiger girls, who attended a Eureka Invitational, placed second in their team standings last Saturday. The IHS girls were indeed second only to Potter County's 205 team points with their final score of 180. The Tiger boys that were there tallied 107 team points for fourth with Potter County also coming in first on the boys side with 122 team points and Sully Buttes was second with 118.
