    Voter turnout in Edmunds County was less than 24% on June 4, 2024 for Primary Election. District 23 voters elected two House representatives and a Senator. Incumbent Representative Scott Moore was the top vote getter. He and Spencer Gosch were elected by District 23 voters. They were also winners in Edmunds County.     Hosmer residents will go to the election polls on Tuesday, June 18. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hosmer Volunteer Fire Department Hall. There are three candidates for two openings for three-year terms on the Board of Trustees. Candidates are Yvette Rutt, Levi Sowards and DeWayne Sowards.     The 2024 Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days scheduled is planned on new days this year — Sunday, August 4 through Tuesday, August 6. This year’s theme is “You Won’t get BOARD in 4-H! The three days will begin on Sunday, August 4 with the Cat Show starting at 2 p.m. in the 4-H Building. This will be followed by the Open Horse Show and Fun Day at 4 p.m. at the Trail Days Arena.   • Project Day fun for local 4-Hers

    Project Day was held on Wednesday, June 5 at the 4- H Building in Ipswich. Projects were led by Meredith Schumacher of 1918 Dirt Road Décor. Members made Mosaic Pictures, Wood Crosses, Bugs, or Designs out of Cement Pavers. During the fun day the 4-H members were able to choose their projects and use their creativity to make their projects unique.     GOTCHA! This is not a Letter to the Editor. It is about them. On page 2 of the Tribune is a box with important information. Prices, email, etc. Also included are the Letters to the Editor Policy. We have been receiving letters that are quite lengthy, so I believe it necessary to set a word count guideline also. Looking for ideas from other sites I found suggestions of 150 to 250 words.     Safety Camp was held on Wednesday, May 29, at the 4-H Building in Ipswich. Ninety youth from Edmunds and McPherson Counties had a fun and educational day. Mollie Simon represented Ipswich on the girls' side carding a 103 on the first day. On the second day, she bounced back with a score of 97 finishing outside of the medalist placings. Mollie had a great season placing in the top ten standing in six tournaments, earning first place at the LRC golf meet and receiving MVP honors from the Ipswich golf team....

    Edmunds Central golfers competed in the State B Golf Tournament June 3 and 4 in Brookings. The boys played on the Brookings Country Club. The Edmunds Central boys were ninth, with a 249-254/503. The EC golfers were led by Seth Hettick. He was tied for 12th place with a 159. Harrison Beyers was tied for 18th, posting a 162. Trent Beyers was tied for 91st, scoring 182.
