Ipswich's annual summer party - Trail Days, was June 8 and 9, 2018. The Saturday concert featured A Thousand Horses, with the opening act The Rude Band, who also played at the After Party. The annual Bulls and Broncs event preceeded the Saturday night concert. The bull riders were divided into two sections of competition. At the end of the night, the top riders were Clay Hindman of Pierre, first; Dillon Micheel of Ainsworth, Neb., second; and Joe Bertus, of Avon, third. Ten Saddle Bronc riders competed. After the parade, the Ipswich Commercial Club revealed the winners of the 2018 Miss Ipswich and Mister Ipswich competition. The winners were Charlee Kessler and Tucker Habeck. Some local-area high school golfers competed at Waterdown during Day Two of their State B girls and boys tournament action last Tuesday. After the first day of the boys' event, Ipswich had shaded defending champion Aberdeen Christian for fifth-place in the boys' team standings. Edmunds County 4-H Shooting Sports will have Shotgun again this summer. They will shoot every Monday starting on June 25. Practice will be held at the Sportsman’s Club north of Ipswich starting at 6:30 p.m. The first class will include safety training followed by shooting. You must join 4-H to participate.
