    Last year Trail Days had to be cancelled due to COVID-19. This year Trail Days is back with a new look. There will be a concert featuring a country-music legend.     The Richland Church is celebrating the retirement of Pastor Ron Wickard as lead pastor on Sunday, June 27th. Pastor Ron and Kaye have ministered at Richland for the past 42 years.     The J.W. Parmley House will be open this summer on Sundays from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The home was built by Ipswich pioneer J.W. Parmley.     The Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days are scheduled for August 4-6 . This year’s theme is “4-H Through the Decades.” The three days will begin with the Dog Show on Wednesday, August 2 starting at 8 a.m. at the 4-H Building. This will be followed by the Cat Show. The Horse Show and Fun Day will be that evening at 4 p.m. at the Trail Days Arena. Thursday will start off with the Poultry Show followed by the Rabbit Show.     This is Fathers Day weekend, as well as Trail Days in Ipswich. Tena's nephew Zach just became a new father of a little baby girl born on yet another June holiday Flag Day, June 14. Her proud parents, Zach and Tristan Beitzel, currently live in Rapid City. They welcomed Sayler Rae at 4:30 p.m. For those interested, she weighed 6 pounds 14.9 oz. We remembered to put up the office flag on Flag Day, but not our flag at home.     NDSU Area students were among the 3,529 North Dakota State University students to be placed on the spring 2021 dean’s list. Avery Sylte of Ipswich and Ashley N. Abel of Mina were on the list.     The 2021 State B high school golf tournaments concluded last Tuesday in Brookings with Chester emerging as the boys' team champion over Platte-Geddes by two strokes and Estelline/Hendricks won the girls' team event, also defeating runner-up Bison by a pair of strokes.     Edmunds County 4-H Shooting Sports will have Shotgun again this summer. They will shoot every Wednesday starting on June 16. Practice will be held at the Sportsman’s Club north of Ipswich starting at 6:30 p.m. The first class will include safety training followed by shooting. You must be a 4-H member to participate. Members may shoot the shotgun of their choice. Shells and clay pigeons for the first round will be provided for 4-H members.
