It was a beautiful day for 2023 Trail Days on Saturday, June 17. The evening began with a rodeo and the stands were full. That was followed by a concert. Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days are quickly approaching. There are several livestock events planned for the three days. The Dog Show will start off the three days at the 4-H Building on Wednesday, August 2 at 8 a.m. The dogs will be judged on agility, rally, obedience, and showmanship. Twenty-six Cloverbud 4-H Members from Edmunds and McPherson County enjoyed Cloverbud Camp on Tuesday, June 13 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich. This year's camp included a Mushroom Clay Pot art activity and several STEM activities. STEM projects include a Cotton Ball Launcher, Harmonica, Lava Lamp, and a Bubble Machine. The Trail Days weekend offered a variety of events (except rain which we desperately needed). Even if you chose to participate in only one or two of them! Kudos to everybody on the Trail Days committee. There looks like a few more area events which are being planned starting perhaps with Leola's annual Rhubarb Festival and Bowdle Tower Days, both set for June 23-25. Coleen Harner, 82, Tolstoy, died Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Bowdle Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 21 at the Bowdle Seventh-day Adventist Church led by Pastor George Shaver.
