    Folks from Ipswich, Roscoe and Leola enjoyed refreshments and said goodbye to Father Russell Homic on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Fr. Homic's last Masses were last weekend at Holy Cross, Holy Trinity and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He said he has some packing to do and then has five days to travel to his new home in Michigan.     The quarterly meeting of the Edmunds County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) will be held at the Agtegra Cooperative office in Ipswich on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. CERT/Citizen's Corp. Council meetings are included with this quarter's LEPC meeting. They are attempting to schedule an Operations Class in Bowdle and an Awareness Class in Ipswich before the end of September.     We got another shot of overnight rain earlier this week and that was timely. Quite a few of the crops that were able to be planted are catching up with that rain, heat and humidity all factoring in. So this is definitely encouraging, barring an early frost. And the way the weather has been, that wouldn't be a major surprise. But the crop prices have still been creeping up due to bad weather and flooded acres in other states.     Highmore will host the Northern Prairie Baseball League 2019 All-Star game on Tuesday, July 16 for Midgets age 12U. The Home Run Derby will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the nine-inning game. The teams will consist of three players from each of the eight teams in the league, including Ipswich. Other teams in the league are Warner, Miller, Faulkton, Northwestern (Northville and Brentford), Highmore, Redfield and Gettysburg.
