    The Edmunds County Relay for Life was held on Friday, July 20 at the Ipswich Athletic Complex. Cancer survivors walked the first lap of the event. Some walked, some rode in golf carts. The walkers started at 6 p.m. and someone was walking on the track until midnight, when this year's Relay concluded with fireworks. Four teams raised funds for the American Cancer Society event.     The Edmunds County Special Foods Contest was held on Wednesday, July 18 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich. Members were given 90 minutes to prepare their recipes. They were judged on food preparation, technique, nutrition, creating an attractive place setting, and food quality.   • Sunday concert features Prairie Harmony Singers

    The Bandshell concert on Sunday, July 29 will feature the Prairie Harmony Singers. The concert begins at 7 p.m. This is the final concert in the series sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Ipswich. Three cousins make up the group. The local musicians are concert favorites.     The Tiger post students released Butterflies into the Butterfly Garden on Monday July 16, 2018 at 4 p.m. They raised 10 Painted Ladies and were pleased with the high survival rate of 9 out of 10. The students and Tiger Post director Madeline Miller watch the butterflies leave the mesh bag they called home at the Tiger Post.
