The Tiger Post had their appreciation picnic and open house Monday evening, Aug. 3. A donation had been made in honor of Louis and Helen Thares before the facility was built. The Tiger Post is housed in the Louis and Helen Thares Youth Center. Louis and Helen were present, as were other family members including their children Jim Thares, Susan Thares and Cheryl Knudson. Micheal Paul Schwingler, Sr., 65, Hosmer, died as a result of a farm accident six miles northeast of Java in Walworth County on Monday, July 27, 2020. Micheal, son of Agnes (Schumacher) and Leo Schwingler, was born March 13, 1955 at Eureka. He was brought up on a farm seven miles west of Hosmer. The Sunday night co-ed softball league had a tournament on July 26. Six teams play in the league. The "Cleats and Cleavage" team was the tourney champs. The league plays on Sunday nights beginning at 5 p.m. at the Ipswich softball field. There are two Sundays left in league play....
