    Pioneer Village and the Parmley House in Ipswich will be welcoming guests on Sunday, August 26 with a special Open House presentation of exhibits. All of the exhibits are free to the public.     The Richland Church will be kicking off their children’s CLUBHOUSE program on Wednesday, September 5 at 7pm. The Fall Kickoff Party will have a variety of inflatable games, as well as snacks and games for kids of all ages. Students will meet their new class teachers for the 2018-2019 Clubhouse year.     Ipswich-Edmunds Central opened its 2018 campaign with a home-field 36-14 non-conference high school football win over Tiospa Zina last Friday. Field position played a role in several of the scores, and the Tigers were able to capitolize right away, courtesy of a Carter Heinz fumble recovery at the visitors 24.     The 2018 Ipswich cross country teams have been practicing for their Saturday, August 25 9:30 a.m. opener at Mobridge and hopefully won't be satisfied with last year's accomplishments. In case you don't remember, the 2017 Ipswich cross country program featured a first-place finish in the State B boys' team chase and the IHS girls were second in their team standings.     Laverne “Vern” Edmund Diede, 78, of Broomfield, Colo., entered his eternal home with the Lord on August 16, 2018. Vern was visiting his brother Jim in Aberdeen at the time of his passing. Laverne was born in Ipswich on April 11, 1940 to Edmund Herman Diede and Ella Bertha (Rempher) Diede. He was the third of eight siblings. He attended Ipswich grade school through high school, graduating in 1958. In 1959, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country overseas in Germany and Austria.
