Ipswich School's annual Gala Day Homecoming festivities are planned for September 5-9. This year's theme is "Homecoming: A Netflix Original". The Pioneer Village in Ipswich will hold an open house from 1 to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022. The Food Pantry will be in Ipswich on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Edmunds County 4-H Building. Lana Mae Spicer was born on April 15, 1945 in Yankton and was adopted by August and Esther Arlt, a farming couple in Ipswich. She grew up on the farm as an only child. She met the love of her life, William Spicer, at Pastor Harold Salem's church in Aberdeen. They married October 29, 1966, and remained together until her death on August 31, 2022. Ipswich went on the road for two high school volleyball matches last week and came away with a split, losing their first match to Groton 3-1 on Tuesday and bouncing back for a 3-0 win over Waubay/Summit two nights later (25-11,25-8, 25-15). The IHS girls entered two competitors in the varsity division led by Gracyn Kadlec 19th in 21:29.03 and Madisyn Gellhaus 41st in 23:43.56.
