    To the Editor: I will never claim to be an engineer but after reviewing the city topography and the strategy for this curb and gutter plan, it doesn’t appear to make sense. While 100 + old trees are being removed, lowering property values, it wouldn’t solve the issue of flooding in yards. It may move water down the street faster and front yards like on 10th may drain into the street, but what about the properties in the rest of the town that are graded lower than the street level?     North Central Thunder volleyball had a five-set loss to Aberdeen Christian on Thursday, Sept. 12 in the Christian School Gym. The Knights won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-23. But then the Thunder won the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-16. Aberdeen Christian came back in the tie breaker, 15-12. Camryn Witlock was the setting leader, 147 of 149, 19 assists.     The North Central boys cross country team was first in the Potter County Invitational Cross Country Meet on Sept. 11 in Hoven. The Thunder boys edged Frederick Area 20 to 21 team points in the 5,000 Meters Varsity race. Wamni Kills Crow of McLaughlin won the meet at 17:43.74.     Ipswich hosted a cross country meet on Saturday, Sept, 14 at the Ipswich Athletic Complex, The North Central boys team were the Mens 5,000 Meters Varsity champions, led by Gabe Johnson who placed second at 17:33.44. Thunder runners in the top ten were Avery Wells, fourth at 17:50.08; Drew Arbach, fifth at 18:04.67; and Aaron Ingerson, eighth at 18:54.63.
