  • Fiddlin' Around

    -deg|Sep 22, 2021

Everybody is Irish on three days and that one of them would obviously be March 17 on your calendars. The other two days? That would have been September 18th and 19th during the annual Northeast South Dakota Celtic Faire held at the Richmond Lake's Youth Camp. And what a beautiful two days of weather at a beautiful location! This event was actually canceled last year due to the pandemic, but the organizers really did their job to make up for it. The food and live music were awesome both days. And as you recall the next day's weather was not all...

  • Tigers get homecoming win over Warner Monarchs

    -deg|Sep 22, 2021

The Ipswich football team avenged its losses last season vs. Warner with a convincing 34-6 win over the Monarchs that would certainly cap off the Tigers' Gala Day festivities. The visitors' lone score would come late in the second quarter, a Peyton Jung six-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Cramer. That lone scoring opportunity had been enabled by a Tiger fumble. But Ipswich would still lead 20-6 at the half and would need to fend off the Monarchs early in the second half when another Warner...

It was that time of the year on Ipswich's varsity volleyball schedule to face a pair of perennially talented Lake Region Conference opponents. And that would prove to be the case again this season. Ipswich was indeed defeated 3-0 at Warner last Tuesday and also lost in straight sets to Northwestern Area back home in the friendly confines of the Tiger Den two nights later. But Ipswich had some positives in both instances. The Tigers lost to the Monarchs 25-17, 25-12 and a much closer 25-22 verdict in the final set that evening. And in the match...
