The 2019 Ipswich Snow Queen Festival is planned on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the School Theater. The Ipswich Commercial Club is sponsoring this year’s event. Zion Lutheran Church (720 N. 6th) in Ipswich will be observing its annual Mission Festival with a special worship service on Sunday, October 21, at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Weis of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Lemmon will be the guest speaker. The Feeding South Dakota Mobile Food Pantry will return to Edmunds County on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Edmunds County 4-H Building in Ipswich. Forty-one Ipswich Middle School students participated in the ninth annual Northwestern Middle School Music Festival on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, held at Northwestern High School. The Festival included a concert band of 70 middle school musicians and a 180 member mixed chorus. The band and choir members represented 13 area schools. The Lake Region Conference is furnishing no fewer than five football teams, including Ipswich-Edmunds Central in 9A for the upcoming high school football playoffs. Ipswich dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision to Lake Region Conference rival Faulkton Area on Monday in the Tiger Den.
