The 2020 Ipswich Snow Queen will be crowned on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the School Theatre. The theme is "Once Upon a Time." The Festival is sponsored by the Ipswich Commercial Club. The Glacial Lakes Energy ethanol plant at Mina was the site of a domestic terrorism on October 24, 2019. Actually the event was an emergency training event. Cindy Renee Swinson (63) passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD surrounded by her loving family, after an extended battle with cancer. Cindy was born Aug. 4, 1956 to Harold and VerNiece (Treichel) Haux in Ipswich. She attended and graduated from Leola High School in 1974. Forty-three Ipswich middle school students participated in the 10th annual Northwestern Middle School Music Festival on Oct. 15, 2019 in the Northwestern High Scool.
