    The 2019 Ipswich Snow Queen will be crowned on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the School Theatre. The theme is “A Touch of Class.” The Festival is sponsored by the Ipswich Commercial Club.     The school theme for the year is “connecting and building relationships” and it is time to connect with members of the community. This month the school has decided to connect with a long-time member of the Tiger community by doing what they can to help him after a serious accident. “Mike Williams had an accident earlier this year and deserves our support,” said guidance director Kathy Goetz.   • Lions recyling prescription bottles

    The Ipswich Lions Club is taking on a new community project working with Vilas Drug in Ipswich and First State Bank in Roscoe. They are now recycling empty prescription bottles. The club is working with a ministry from Ohio which includes the recycled bottles in their overseas medical shipments to developing countries. The bottles allow medical staff to send prescriptions home with patients packaged rather than giving them to a patient in an envelope or simply in their hand. Ipswich/EC faced and was defeated by Kimball/White Lake during the regular season and now that team will be in the Class 9AA playoffs' championship game with an 8-3 mark against Bon Homme (10-1).     The Edmunds County 4-H Recognition Event was held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich. The evening started with a potluck supper followed by the awards ceremony. The 4-H members, leaders, and friends of 4-H were honored for their accomplishments and contributions. Bonnie Nehlich, 4-H Youth Program Advisor, welcomed all to the event.     Ipswich finished 1-1 in its pair of Region 2B high school volleyball apppearances last week. The Lady Tigers first hosted Potter County for a 2B 3-0 win over the Battlers last Tuesday in Ipswich.     Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has appointed Deputy Director Lonnie Grabowska as the new Director of the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). The BCI is a division of the Attorney General's office. Grabowska takes over from Dallas Carlson, who was confirmed as US Marshal for North Dakota earlier this month.
