    South Dakota Snow Queen Aleah Steger, who was crowned 2019 Miss Ipswich last year, crowned her successor on Saturday night, Nov. 9 in the School Theatre. The 2020 Ipswich Snow Queen is Avery Sylte. The first runner-up was Alexa Rossman.     A new feature in this year's Snow Queen Festival was a Talent Contest. The junior and senior division winners will compete at the South Dakota Snow Queen Festival in January. The first place winners were vocal soloists, the Sanborn sisters - junior Kylee and senior Jayna. Gracyn Kadlec, who played the piano and sang, was the junior second place winner.     Congratulations to the Ipswich Lady Tigers for their Region 2B high school volleyball win last week. Their initial opponent in the tourney, the North Central co-op, played well in a loss and both teams will return a solid nucleus next year. It is also state championship week in football in the high school ranks starting with three straight nine-man games outdoors in Brookings on Thursday.     Jean M. Bullock, 82 of Sun City, Ariz. passed away on November 1, 2019. Jean was born on December 2, 1936 in Ipswich and moved to Arizona from Wisconsin in 1971. Jean is survived by her children, Patrick (Nancee), Cheryl, Greg (Shannon), and Keith (Michelle); sister, Gwenda; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Jean was proceeded in death by her husband Paul, son Kevin, father Edward Sr., mother Irene, brother Edward Jr., daughter-in-law Vickie and great-granddaughter Serena.     Ipswich swept its two Region 2B high school volleyball appearances last week in the Tiger Den and didn't have a whole lot of time to celebrate. That's because the team advanced to a Tuesday, Nov. 12 SoDak 16 play-off game vs. Burke in Chamberlain with the winner advancing to the State B in Rapid City on November 21-23.     The Ipswich/Edmunds Central football team had several players named to the Lake Region Conference (LRC) All-Conference team. Tigers on the list are seniors Carter Heinz and Ethan Gilbert and junior Josh McQuarie. Sophomore Carson Gohl was an honorable mention pick. LRC teams included Warner (5-0), Langford (4-1), Faulkton (2-3), North Border (2-3), Northwestern (0-5) and Ipswich/Edmunds Central, which was 2-3 in conference play. The team champion was Warner.
