    The 2020 Grand Lighting Ceremony for Christmas at the South Dakota Capitol was Tuesday in the Capitol Rotunda. Gov. Kristi Noem, First Gentleman Bryon Noem, and Pierre Mayor Steve Harding welcomed guests and lit the Capitol trees. The Capitol Christmas display includes around 83 trees decorated by volunteers from communities including Ipswich, schools, churches, nonprofit organizations and state government offices.     The Ipswich Public Elementary students will celebrate Christmas with their Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 3, 2020.     Bringing some cheer to the 2020 Holiday Season the Wily Wizards 4-H Club is again sponsoring the tree decorating event at the Edmunds County Courthouse. They did a drive-thru delivery so you didn't even have to leave your vehicle.     Northern State University held winter commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. The ceremony, which takes place in the Barnett Center, was open to all 2020 NSU graduates. Northern’s 104 winter graduates included Shelby Marcotte, of Ipswich, who received a Finance B.S. degree.     Edmunds Central School had a Public Football Forum on Monday, Nov. 16 to discuss the future of football for EC athletes. The 2020 season marked the end of the cooperative agreement with Ipswich for football. Extending that coop with Ipswich was requested by an EC district member. The options of continuing the coop with Ipswich or beginning the Thunder coop with Eureka and Bowdle were outlined.
