Was the winter solstice on December 21 this year? It seems like I had heard that somewhere. That did seem a little early, but maybe not. At any rate it might be quite a long time until we begin to actually experience the effects of the longest day of the year. Somewhere I also heard that there was less than a minute more daylight right away, so you indeed shouldn't notice that for awhile. But time flies when you're having fun or getting older and I would imagine that could be scientifically proven. Especially if it's in the form of a phone...

The Ipswich girls' basketball varsity closed out a busy week with a pair of road wins. They shut down Webster 64-52 in Webster Saturday after a decisive 61-21 LRC conference win at Langford the night before. A highlight of the win over the Bearcats was that Halle Heinz tallied 37 points which tied the school record held by her own sister Kamryn. She included all four of her team's three-pointers as well as four free throws. Nothing was settled in the first quarter that ended in a 11-11 tie. But Ipswich would then win each remaining quarter...

Ipswich also won both individual quarters in the second half, 17-10 and 17-4, respectively. Ipswich's largest lead in the game would be 31 points and Webster never ever led. The second half turned out to be quite a defensive battle with Ipswich owning a 38-18 edge with a quarter to play. And that 2...
