The Ipswich City Council changed the Wards after the 2020 census population upgrade. Ward One will cover all territory in the city north of the railroad track to Highway 12 and west of Highway 45. Ward Two will cover all territory lying north of the railroad tracks to Highway 12 and east of Highway 45 and the territory south of the railroad tracks. Robert (Bob) Meyer passed away from cancer on December 15, 2021 in Modesto, Calif. Bob was born on February 26, 1962, to Don and Dot Meyer of Mina. He was raised on the family farm with his nine siblings and attended Mina School through second grade, when he switched to school in Ipswich. He graduated in 1980 from Ipswich High School and attended Lake Area Vo-Tech. He returned to Aberdeen in the mid-80s and worked at Frey Electronics. The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed in the Mount Vernon/ Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney (MVPCS) Titans Invitational in Plankinton on Dec. 18. Eighteen teams participated in the tourney, with Redfield Area winning the event with 263 points. Ipswich/Bowdle placed 11th. The Ipswich Lions Club recently provided popcorn for students and staff at the Ipswich Public School. Elementary through High School students as well as staff stopped by the Lions Concession stand to enjoy a bag of popcorn donated by the Ipswich Lions Club. Younger students enjoyed a holiday movie before Christmas break and the others enjoyed the popcorn. Summit has traditionally been a formidable opponent in basketball and having Waubay in a co-op certainly hasn't hurt the Mustang's girls' program at all.
