Dean was born July 13, 1928, to Walter and Lizzie Hodson at their farmstead established in 1887. In 1917, it was renamed Sunny Creek Farm. Mollie Simon represented Ipswich on the girls' side carding a 103 on the first day. On the second day, she bounced back with a score of 97 finishing outside of the medalist placings. Two Ipswich seniors have been selected to play in the South Dakota Football Coaches Association's 2024 All-Star Football Game on Saturday, June 8 at South Dakota State University's Dana Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings. Ipswich held a high school golf meet on May 16 at the Split Rock Country Club. Hailey Usselman finished 10th with a 123 and Mollie Simon shot a 102, which earned her fourth place.
