The Open Horse Show and Fun Day is part of the 2024 Edmunds County Achievement Days. The activities will begin with registration starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Trail Days Arena on Sunday, August 4. Events will start at 4 p.m. Riders of all ages are encouraged to come and participate in the numerous fun events planned. Riders under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the arena. Trail Days 2024 was held June 14-16 in Ipswich. The headliner for the concert on Saturday was Chancey Williams with special guest Rowan Grace. The Bulls & Broncs was free for the public at 4 p.m. Saturday began with a parade at 10:30 p.m. with nearly 50 entries. The theme was "Happy Holidays." The Edmunds County Horse Show will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at the Trail Days Complex. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The show starts at 9:30 a.m. with showmanship. This will be followed by various riding and timed events. Competitors will be from Edmunds, McPherson, and Walworth counties. Registration online is recommended but not required. The 2024 Trail Days Bulls and Broncs event was successful. Spud Creek Rodeo Co provided great bucking stock to pair with excellent cowboys. The winner of Round 1 of the Broncs was split between Ridge Ward of Martin and Tayson Jones of Howes. Second place went to Zane Howe of Caputa.
