The Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days are scheduled for August 4-6 . This year’s theme is “4-H Through the Decades.” The three days will begin with the Dog Show on Wednesday, August 2 starting at 8 a.m. at the 4-H Building. This will be followed by the Cat Show. What a memorable year 2020 turned out to be! It should always be remembered by historians and ordinary folks as the Year of the Coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 Heifer Futurity Contest was held on Saturday, October 3 at the Trail Days Complex. Seven contestants from Edmunds County participated: Caleb Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Jacob Jung, Chesney Olivier, Quincy Olivier, Austin Rawden, and Charli Rawden. While many were celebrating this year's Trail Days events, Deanne Hoyle was entering a new exciting year for her in Mitchell. Saturday morning, June 8 Deanne was sworn in as the new president of the South Dakota P.E.O. organization. There are 96 Chapters in the state with approximately 3600 members. The Ipswich P.E.O.
