The Cloverbuds 4-H Club Open House will be held on Sunday, September 29 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich from 4-5 p.m. Leader Sarah Perrion will be available to explain the program to families. The Ipswich marching band will compete in the Roncalli Marching Band Festival on Wednesday, Oct.2. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. The parade route is along 15th Ave. NW in Aberdeen, finishing at Dakota Street. The awards ceremony will be held in the Roncalli gym. Planning is underway for the Edmunds Central Homecoming festivities October 7-11. The senior class chose the theme for the week — “Holidays: Celebrating Thunder Success Year-Round!” Coronation will be held Monday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the EC Fine Arts Gymnasium. The Ipswich Knights of Columbus Council earned two awards this fraternal year. The Columbian Award demonstrates excellence in charitable outreach and faith in action programs. Elda Hoffer of the Roscoe American Legion Auxiliary presented dictionaries to Edmunds Central third graders. Their teacher Michele Eisenbeisz said "We use our dictionaries to look up words that are unknown when we do SRA. Construction work was scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, to build a diversion adjacent to U.S. Highway 12 east of Mina over Snake Creek. The contractor will set up signs, strip topsoil, and build the diversion adjacent to the roadway in preparation for a bridge replacement project in 2025. The construction of the diversion will involve trucking material to the site. Traffic will be controlled with signs.
