The Edmunds County 4-H Recognition Event was held Monday, November 27 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich. The evening started with a potluck supper followed by the awards ceremony. Three Ipswich students will participate in the State B Oral Interpretation Festival in Harrisburg Dec. 1 and 2, 2023. This year, the IHS oral interpretation team competed at the District 10B Contest in Mobridge November 6. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Edmunds County Courthouse and you are invited to get into the Holiday Spirit by attending the Christmas lighting ceremony on Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m. Trees line the hallway of all three floors of the Courthouse. ‘Tis the Season for Holiday Fairs! Saturday, Nov. 25 you can search for holiday goodies at the Hosmer Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Fair is at a building on Main Street across from the Vet Clinic. The Edmunds Central School District election on November 7 was close. With only a 20.3 percent voter turnout, “No” had 64 votes and “Yes” 61 votes. The voters were asked to decide if the School District should dissolve the current district system and make each seat an "at-large" seat for which anyone living in the district would be eligible. The "No" vote meant there will be no change in the current School Board make-up.
