    Ipswich track and field athletes competed in the Howard Wood Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls May 3 and 4,. The Ipswich boys won a pair of relays in the Class B division. IHS boys won the 4x100 Relay at 44.33. Team members were Kyle Hettich, Maxwell Kulesa, Casey Geditz and Trevor Heinz. They also won the 4x200 Relay, 1:32.23, with Casey Geditz, Maxwell Kulesa, Kyle Hettich and Trevor Heinz running. Trevor Heinz was third in the Long Jump for all participants.     The Edmunds Central Golf Team was second at the Faulkton Invitational Golf Meet on April 25 at Lakeside Country Club in Faulkton. The Edmunds Central golfers were three points behind Miller Area — 245-248. EC golfer Seth Hettick won the meet. He was tied for first after 18 hole and won it with Par on the first playoff hole. “I thought the boys played well given the extremely windy conditions,” said EC coach David Hettick.     On April 18, the Ipswich golfers headed to Miller to golf on a cool and windy day. Wind gusts were up to over 30 miles per hour and the temperatures never really got above the low 40s. Coach Matt Pollock said the golfers did an excellent job of battling the elements and competing against the other golfers. It was a great opportunity for the golfers to grow mentally.     The North Central track and field boys and girls team earned championships at the YTC Meet on April 25 at Eureka. Timothy Rucker was first in the 110m Hurdles at 21.69 and 300m Hurdles in 49.83. He also was the champ in the Triple Jump, 38-5.5 and High Jump at 5-6. Kobe Wherry earned two first place wins: Javelin 119-8 and Pole Vault 10-0. Raynor Sprague was first in the 400 Meters at 54.40.     The Ipswich Track and Field team competed at the Rob Luecke Invitational in Groton on Tuesday, April 23. The Ipswich boys were second to Milbank, 177.5 then 87 points. The IHS girls were sixth in a field of 16 teams. Milbank was also the girls champions. Among the boys’ wins was a first place for the 4x200 Relay at 1:36.85.     Ipswich and North Central track and field teams competed at the Rotary Relays in Mobridge on April 13, 2024. The Ipswich team won the womens varsity division with 119 points. Mobridge-Pollock was second with 81 points. The IHS mens varsity team was second with 113 points, right behind the hosts, Mobridge-Pollock with 124 points.     EDMUNDS CENTRAL The Edmunds Central high school golf team kicked off the season at the Class B Classic in Mitchell on April 5. There were 144 boys and girls golfers participating from across the state. Harrison Beyers led the Edmunds Central golfers with 84 for 22nd place. Seth Hettick scored 87.     Ipswich Track and Field athletes competed in the Dewey Donat Classic indoor track and field meet in the Barnett Center on Thursday, March 28 in Aberdeen. Kyle Hettich won the 200 Meter with a 23.81. In the 55 Meter Dash Hettich was second, 6.73, followed by Trevor Heinz at 6.76. An IHS 4x400 Relay team was second at 3:49.17. Hettich and Heinz were joined by Casey Geditz and Rasmus Loken. Rasmus Loken was second in the 55m Hurdles, with a 8:76 clocking.     The North Central track and field team began their season with an indoor meet in the Barnett Center on the Northern State University campus on Tuesday, March 26.
