    Ipswich and North Central both attended a cross country meet in Miler on September 25. The NC varsity boys and girls each placed fifth in their respective team standings. The NC girls were led by Grace Roth 19th in 23:16.85 and then Melanie Dallenbach was 22nd in 23:39.52. Their third scorer was Kassandra Abbas 29th in 24:43.78 and they totaled 56 team points.     Ipswich picked up a non-conference high school volleyball win on the road versus Potter County last Thursday. The hosts were eventually outscored 3-1 by the Tiger netters. The individual set scores for Ipswich were 25-23, 25-20, 15-25 and 25-17. Ipswich got 14 kills from Marley Guthmiller and 10 from Gabby Wald. The Tigers totaled 42 kills.     North Central began last week with a five set volleyball defeat to Ipswich at Ipswich last Monday and then also lost to Leola/Frederick in straight sets at home a night later. First things first! The Thunder lost the tiebreaker set 15-10 and that match point was delivered by Ipswich's Marley Guthmiller.     North Central's netters defeated Strasburg/Zeeland, N.D. 3-0 last Thursday. The scores were 25-15, 25-17 and 25-13. They were able to obtain 95 hits including 37 kills. Amree VanderVorst went 25-28 with 11 kills and Natalie Bieber finished 16-18 with 10 kills. Ella Batie chipped in with 19 hits that featured 10 kills.     Ipswich was in contention for a varsity high school football win last Friday in Britton. But the hosts would eventually win the affair 48-30. The quarter scores were 20-8, 26-16 and 42-22, all favoring the hosts.     Despite giving up a harmless last minute touchdown, the Ipswich Tiger football team came away with an impressive 44-20 road win vs. Herreid/Selby Area and were still able to line up in their victory formation last Friday.
