    The North Central football got a 45-14 win over Northwestern on Sept. 20 in Mellette. NC’s Tim Rucker scored twice in the first quarter. Both were passes from Kobe Wherry. The first was a 39 yard pass with a Tyler Bluhm kick good for the extra point. Then Rucker received a nine-yard pass to give NC a 13-0 first quarter edge.     North Central Thunder volleyball had a five-set loss to Aberdeen Christian on Thursday, Sept. 12 in the Christian School Gym. The Knights won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-23.     The Edmunds County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sport program had a busy summer shooting to qualify for the state shoot. Shooters spent Wednesday nights at the Ipswich Shooting Range practicing their shotgun skills. The state shoot was held in Mitchell on September 6-8.     The North Central volleyball team played two matches last week versus Faulkton and South Border, N.D. The NC Thunder volleyball team hosted Faulkton in Roscoe on Sept. 5. The match gave the Trojans the win, 3-2. Faulkton got the first win 23-25, but then the Thunder took over, winning 25-22 and 25-21. Then the Trojans won the next match 20-25.     The high school varsity volleyball begins this week. IPSWICH The Ipswich volleyball season began yesterday, Aug. 27 when the Tigers traveled to Highmore-Harrold. Trent Osborne will again lead the team with Laura Ochsner assisting him. There are 15 girls on the varsity team with four seniors — Rylee Kleffman, Jaydin Stiles, Reaghan Bowers and Kaylin Onken.
