The Ipswich cross country program under head coach Todd Thorson will be quite youthful this year with no seniors on either the girls or boys rosters. But Thorson says that it's very possible that there is a combined girls/boys record turnout of 24 runners this season. (That equates to 16 girls and eight boys.) The Edmunds Central Class of 2021 will have a 5K Color Run/Walk on Saturday, August 1. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Roscoe City Park. The run/walk starts at 9 a.m. with staggered starts to allow for social distancing. A pork loin meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the park. A nine-person Kickball Tournament is planned on Saturday, June 27 at the Roscoe Baseball Field. Registration and check-in begins at 9 a.m. and the games begin at 9:30 a.m. Teams may have up to 12 players with nine on the field at one time for the 30 minute games. Former Ipswich/Edmunds Central standout Carter Heinz was named to the Blue team's roster of the South Dakota High School All-Star Football game. The game would have been played this month at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Edmunds County Shooting Sports held their second postal on March 9. Shooting a qualifying score enables the shooter to participate in the State Shoot in Ft. Pierre on April 24-26. Six BB Gun shooters showed their skills in standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone positions and 14 archers competed. The Trojan girls will indeed carry a 20-3 record into this year's State B in Spearfish after winning a pair of Region 2B outings followed by a 56-47 conquest of Newell in a SoDak 16 showdown last Thursday in Ft.
