    Ipswich picked up a hard-fought 47-33 LRC league girls' basketball win against Warner on January 9 on the Monarchs' own floor. The Tiger girls were gradually able to take control of the outcome, especially during the final quarter. The IHS contingent had trailed 10-7 after a quarter and still faced a narrow 19-18 halftime deficit.     Ipswich had mixed results in a pair of recent boys' basketball outcomes. The Tiger boys indeed outscored Ethan 61-52 in a classic in Huron on January 3 and then a night later they dropped a non-conference outcome 59-50 to Waubay/Summit on Saturday evening in Waubay. Versus Ethan, Ipswich doubled the Rustlers 18-9 in the opening quarter and still led 32-24 at the half.     The Ipswich girls' basketball team swept its two recent games to improve to 4-2 overall. Huron was able to hold its classics on January 3 and Ipswich won its girls' game over Sanborn Central/ Woonsocket 45-33 there. This win featured an overall defensive effort from the Tiger girls and they indeed delivered.
