The Ipswich U10 girls softball team competed in a tournament in Watertown recently. The girls had a successful weekend, placing third in their division. They had a great opening day, defeating Watertown 14-3 and then Redfield 10-0. Game three on Saturday would be one of their best games of the tournament. The Roscoe Summer Youth Baseball and Softball teams recently attended their 8th Annual NSU Team Camps. The NSU Softball coaches worked directly with the groups on drills and skills specific to each sport. The Edmunds County 4-H Horse Show was held on Wednesday, June 26 at the Yellowstone Trail Complex in Ipswich. The six participants were from Edmunds, McPherson, and Walworth counties. The 2024 Trail Days Bulls and Broncs event was successful. Spud Creek Rodeo Co provided great bucking stock to pair with excellent cowboys. Mollie Simon represented Ipswich on the girls' side carding a 103 on the first day. On the second day, she bounced back with a score of 97 finishing outside of the medalist placings. Mollie had a great season placing in the top ten standing in six tournaments, earning first place at the LRC golf meet and receiving MVP honors from the Ipswich golf team....
Edmunds Central golfers competed in the State B Golf Tournament June 3 and 4 in Brookings. The boys played on the Brookings Country Club. The Edmunds Central boys were ninth, with a 249-254/503. Two Ipswich seniors have been selected to play in the South Dakota Football Coaches Association's 2024 All-Star Football Game on Saturday, June 8 at South Dakota State University's Dana Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings.
