    Ipswich/Edmunds Central gave Langford a huge Lake Region Conference high school football scare last Friday in Langford. But the host team prevailed 26-20 in overtime. The loss dropped I/EC to 2-2 and the Tigers are now 1-1 in league play. The Lions scored a late TD to send the game into OT, knotted at 20 all. (The PAT failed.)     Ipswich never lost a single set in winning a Mobridge-Pollock Invitational volleyball tournament last Saturday in Mobridge. The three wins improved Ipswich's record to 8-1 at that point in time and capped a very busy net week for the IHS Lady Tigers. Ipswich indeed defeated McLaughlin 25-20, and 25-16, Cheyenne Eagle Butte 25-19, 25-17 and then topped the host school 25-22, 25-18 in the championship match.     Ipswich won two high school girls' non-conference volleyball matches last week during the school week, one on the road and then one in the friendly confines of the Tiger Den. And both wins were in straight sets! The Lady Tigers had two varsity girls runners entered, led by a Top Tenner Tessa Kilber in eighth at 20:56.58. Emily DeRaad also placed 31st of 64 runners in that event at 22:21.78. The Ipswich Lady Tigers were defeated 3-0 by their Groton area counterparts on Tuesday evening and two nights later edged Waubay/Summit 3-1.     Ipswich traveled to Pierre last Friday for a multi-class, multi-division season-opening high school cross country meet. Tessa Kilber placed eighth among 33 individual contestants with her 16:44.13 clocking. Melanie Jacobs of Aberdeen Central edged her runner-up teammate Zoe Douglas 15:17.28 to 15:36.90.     Ipswich is forming a Youth Football team for grades 3-6. This will be a tackle football team. Teams are typically separated in 3-4 and 5-6 grades but some games may be different. An organizational meeting is planned on Monday, July 29 at the south baseball field from 6 to 7 p.m. Players can try on the equipment and get it ordered for the season.
