Fiddlin' Around

It finally rained over the weekend (sort of still the weekend anyway). And I don't know that Trail Days contributed to that welcomed weather event, because the precip really didn't start until late Sunday evening overnight into Monday morning.

Maybe it was all the Sunday morning prayers earlier in the day!

Actually Saturday's Trail Days calendar featured just about ideal weather for all three concerts, the Sherwin Linton Concerts downtown during the day and the Trail Days Arena stage in the evening, featuring the Rude band and the Thousand Horses band. Luckily nobody got trampled by those horses or their fans, but some real horses in the rodeo arena refused to let their riders stay in the saddle for the required eight seconds to get a score in the saddle-bronc riding competition. Fortunately, I don't think anybody got hurt too seriously in either the bronc or bull-riding events.

The Trail Days parade certainly had some interesting entries and was quite long. Even where we like to view it by Charlie’s Park when all the entries pass by bumper to bumper instead of being more and more spread out as the parade progresses further into its route. But maybe that's not bad either if you're a little kid, because you would have more time to pick up the candy before the next entrant throws you some more.
