Outdoor Camp at Mina Lake for local 4-H'ers

Outdoor Camp was held on Wednesday, June 13 at the Mina Lake Recreation Area. 4-H Members from Edmunds and McPherson County enjoyed the day experiencing life outdoors.

Classes included fishing, cleaning and cooking fish, bird watching, furs and pelts, rock painting, and making bean bags. They also received a drawstring bag that they were able to decorate and use to take items made home with them.

Lunch consisted of pizza and chips followed by a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Snacks were also provided in the morning and afternoon.

Helping teach classes were Joe Galbraith and Eric Voight from the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks, Jim and Elaine Kanable, Betty Hutson, and Jean Hutson. Junior Leaders included Chesney Olivier, Myra Toennies, Robin Butler, and Jailey Hutson. The Junior Leaders were either in charge of one of the groups or helped with the classes.

This camp was funded in part by a grant received from the South Dakota Leader's Association.
