If you didn't see (or hear) any fireworks earlier this month, you could get another opportunity. There will be a fireworks display at the football field in Ipswich at around midnight Friday evening as the conclusion of the Relay for Life cancer-battling activities. Things get going there around 6 p.m. for the six-hour event.
Before Friday, though, we might have some natural fireworks from thunderstorm activities as part of a possible midweek weather event that had been forecast. It's getting uncomfortably too close to fall already, but in our part of the state, we can still use any moisture we can get, well, maybe not hail!
Last Friday evening was even more fun, not! We had to get a new computer to publish this newspaper as our old one kept getting slower and slower with each successive Window 10 update on a computer that was designed for Windows 7. So we picked up a great bargain in Mandan over the 4th of July weekend, but for newspaper use, this computer could definitely use more RAM. Prying apart plastic in those modern all-in-one computers ain't no fun, but Tena and I finally managed to get the thing apart, install the RAM and button it up. Woops, where do these four screws go? It came apart a little easier this time around, so we could successfully and correctly finish the job.
