Judge rules in favor of turkey operation

Judge Richard Sommers ruled that the Edmunds County Commission followed the proper procedures when they approved a building permit to build a turkey operation near a farm southwest of Ipswich.

Mary Curtis filed civil lawsuits against the County Commission and Planning Commission to stop the turkey barn being built near her home.

Fifth Circuit Court Judge Sommers recently made his ruling in the county’s favor. An objection has been filed by Curtis’ attorney.

Curtis told the Aberdeen American News she has not decided whether to take the case to the state Supreme Court....
