The Lake Region Conference is furnishing no fewer than five football teams, including Ipswich-Edmunds Central in 9A for the upcoming high school football playoffs.
There is one LRC 9AA team, North Border, which travels to Webster Area on Thursday and two LRC teams in 9A, Warner and I-EC. They don't meet in the first round. Ipswich plays Canistota-Freeman in Freeman. and Warner hosts Clark-Willow Lake. But that's not the case in 9B, the smallest nine-man class. It will feature two LRC teams going head to head, Langford Area vs. Faulkton Area in Faulkton.
The weather appears to favorable for the time being anyway. And this might be turning into those traditional falls that had some nasty wintry weather which then gave way to a prolonged warm-up. But the weather can and has changed from day to day so we'll hope for nice weather on Thursday and then again a couple of days later for the state cross country meets in Sioux Falls.
But kids in this area are used to running in less than desirable weather, being not all that far from the North Dakota border.
And hopefully the adults can get some leaves raked or better yet, the row crop harvesting!
