The Ipswich Commercial Club is planning a fun weekend to celebrate Christmas this weekend.
The Hometown Holiday Weekend begins on Thursday, Dec. 6. Enjoy rolls, juice and coffee at Agtegra/Prescription Ag and Holiday Meal Drawing from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Then play Bingo beginning at 10 a.m. there, sponsored by Agtegra and Prescription Ag.
Enjoy holiday music Thursday at the Ipswich School Theater. The Elementary Concert will have two performances. The matinee will begin at 2:15 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. The preschool and Jr. Kindergarten will perform at the 7 p.m. performance only.
Thursday through Saturday you can sign up for a $100 Business Bucks prize at the participating businesses. See the ad in this week’s paper for more information.
Many businesses will have special festivities on Friday, Dec. 7 including open houses and refreshments at Ipswich State Bank, John Sieh Agency, Ipswich Post Office, Valley, Creative Edge, Ipswich Lumber and Beck Law. See the flyer that was in last week’s Ipswich Tribune. Or you can find one at local businesses.
Friday the Ipswich School will have a Holiday Spirit Contest for students and staff.
Play Bingo at Ipswich Care beginning at 1:30 p.m. Need help wrapping presents? Stop at the FEM office on Friday.
Local residents are invited to bring Gingerbread Houses to the Edmunds County Courthouse Friday.
The Ipswich P.E.O. Chapter will have a baked potato supper from 5 to 6:45 p.m. in the Ipswich UCC Fellowship Hall.
The Christmas at the Courthouse Lighting Ceremony begins at 7 p.m. The Gingerbread Houses will be on display and entertainment by the Wily Wizards 4-H Club members.
Saturday, Dec. 8 you can have refreshments at Creative Edge and Ken’s FoodFair.
The annual Highway of Hope Vendor and Craft Show is planned on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Father Bormann Hall. A children’s carnival will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Then at noon Santa will make a visit. Over 20 vendors will have items and a bake sale and lunch are also planned.
Youth are also invited to decorate cookies with the Ipswich Snow Queens and Frosty at the Tiger Post from 12:30 to 2 p.m. A story hour and craft will begin at 2 p.m. in the Ipswich Library.
During the weekend you’ll want to view the Lighted Lane on Bloemendaal Drive near Ipswich Care and Rehab. Judging of local residents’ Christmas-decorated homes will be done during the weekend also.
