Fiddlin' Around

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

And Santa did come early with a few presents for at least some of the area high school sports teams. Particularly in basketball, where the EC girls and boys and Ipswich's girls and boys all have at least one win under their belts. And the Tiger boys have three pre-Christmas wins under their Christmas tree to lead that list.

As we stated in this column last week, most of the local area with the exception of Hosmer customers would be getting their next week's paper and the following week's edition on December 26 and January 2, respectively, as you might expect would be the case. The difference is, however, that our printers have moved up their deadlines to where they will be printing on Saturday evening for the next couple of editions. What that means is that we'll be formulating the papers and emailing them to Ortonville for the next two Saturday afternoons or early evenings at the latest.

Our December 26 editions will contain some New Year's greeting types of advertising from area businesses for one thing and the January 2 edition will feature newspaper datelines with 2019 instead of 2018. Where has this year gone?
