In celebration of National Youth Art Month, Ipswich High School Art Department will display a solo art exhibit at the Presentation College Wein Gallery.
The one-month show will be featured from February 4-28. A reception was planned on Monday, Feb. 4.
Entitled “Through the Eyes of a Tiger,” the exhibit will showcase 22 students in grades 9 through 12. This is appropriate, since their school mascot is a tiger with their logo being a tiger paw.
A variety of media will be shown in their display, including pieces from the art department’s Art I, Art II, and Art III classes, as well as digital photography and 3-D art.
It has been eight years since this high school has exhibited in the Wein Gallery.
Angela Shimitz, is the K-8 Art, Art I-IV, and Digital Photography teacher, and yearbook adviser. Angela had a solo show, herself, in the previous Wein Gallery, in May of 2014.
“The Ipswich High School art show promises to be a colorful, creative and captivating body of diverse work,” said Shimitz.
The Wein Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and is open Saturday, February 9 from 1-3 p.m.
