The Ipswich Middle School Science Fair was held on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the School Theater.
Middle School science teacher Brian Hogie said the winners will take their projects to the regional Science Fair at Northern State University in Aberdeen in March.
Hogie said working on projects encourages the students to do research.
Eighth grade winners were Katie Bierman, first place, with "Melting Power: and Jailey Hutson, second place, "What's In Your Water?".
Seventh grade winners were Cayden Geier, first place, "Magnet vs. Temp" and Hannah Beyers, second place, "Which Paper Towel is Better?".
Sixth grade winners were Max Kulesa, first place, "How Strong is Your Cereal?" and Reaghan Bowers, second place, "Sand vs. Potting Soil."
